Joe Beggs (CEO) leads fundraising and partnerships at GenAssist, securing $675K to date, including an NSF SBIR grant. A serial entrepreneur, he was part of the 2022 MedTech Innovator Cohort and has been recognized as a Top Innovator Under 25 by the St. Louis Business Journal and Founder of the Year by St. Louis Startup Week. He also received Washington University's McKelvey Engineering Emerging Leader Award and delivered a TEDx Talk on innovation.
Joe's previous ventures include HIVE Medical, a remote patient monitoring company for home infusion therapy, and SimpEL, a startup commercializing wireless charging for implanted spinal stimulators. Across his ventures, he has secured over $1.2M in funding, with investments from mHUB, Baxter, Endeavor Health, and Hologic. His experience spans three publications, two rounds of NSF I-Corps, two patents, a clinical trial, and the launch of a medical device.
Joe graduated with Honors from Grinnell College and Washington University’s Dual Degree Engineering Program in 2020. At GenAssist, he applies his expertise to drive commercial success.
