Don is a life sciences senior executive and deal-maker with over 20 years of experience. He has executed transactions worth a total of more than $8.5 billion, led development and implementation of strategy and operations for multiple healthcare businesses, including in the field of gene therapy. He was previously CEO of Carmine Therapeutics and Chief Business Officer at Asklepios Biosciences (“AskBio”) where he was instrumental in its acquisition by Bayer, and is a non-executive Director of several venture-backed biotech companies. Don received his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Missouri Columbia, and an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business.
